Learning Goal: I’m working on a history multi-part question and need an explanation to help me learn. For this assignment we are going to do a couple of things! First you are going to take a learning style quiz: http://www.educationplanner.org/students/self-assessments/learning-styles-quiz.shtml (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. This is a bit fun, but is also important. It can teach you what the best way to study is….and can save you much time. For example, when I was in college, I studied for tests by making index cards. However, I didn’t learn best by reading…I learned best by doing! So instead of spending time with the cards, I should have spent more time drawing pictures or talking about the assignment. So take this test, and post what kind of learning style it tells says you have. And then, based on results, what type of assignments would you like to see more of in an onlineclass that you think would help you learn best. Recently, there has been some debate as to how accurate the idea of learning styles is, but it will certainly give you something to think about! And then read Chapter 4 (paying attention to these: Early Societies in Southeast Asia This chapter looks at early civilizations from the area around present day Pakistan and India. It pays attention to the culture there, focusing on religion.Harappan Society -Harappan Society started by the Indus River in present day Pakistan-Harrappa and Mohenjo-daro: Two cities by the Indus river around 2000 BCE: You should know what these cities were like. Understand the culture, Fertility Cults, -Know the theories of what led to their declineIndo European Migrations and Early Vedic India-After the Harappans declined Aryans (you remember them?) moved into the Indus area they clashed with the Dravidians who were already in the area. -The Aryans composed Vedas Hymns, Prayers and rituals -Aryans called their enemies Dasas and had Rajas as kings -They had a Caste system (Varna), know about Brahmins, kshatriyas, vaishyas, shudras, and untouchables. Also understand the basics of this Caste System -Lawbook of Manu: basic laws for life in ancient India. Circa 500 BCE. Patriarchal society. Even Sati where a woman would commit suicide when her husband dies. Religion in the Vedic Age -Know about the Aryan Religion-Upanishads: Works that discussed religious principles: Samsara what we might call reincarnation, and Karma, if you do good in this life you it will mean your next life ill be better…if you do bad…uh oh!and then come up with an example of an assignment that would help you remember the material in Chapter 4 Using specific examples from the Chapter, explain what that assignment would be! write a discussion and reply to another one. this is the discussion question :What is the societal constructed single story surrounding slavery and the African American? Can a single story be reconstructed? Explainand reply to this one: The Societal constructed single story surrounding slavery and African Americans is that anyone of color was less than their lighter counterparts. They were viewed as less than human, and not as academically smart. This is derived from the years of enslavement and the years of abuse at the hand of their white counterparts. It is also believed that American Americans did not have culture until they were freed from slavery. This is just simply untrue. They did have culture; they were able to create soulful music with a deeper meaning, practice religion, and learn how to make create a twist on the white man’s food. The only way this single story can be reconstructed is if this information is taught in schools from a younger age. It would be able to educate people on the true and unjust history of African Americans and their ancestors. This would be one of the multiple ways that society as a whole could reconstruct this single story.

In particular, read the sections entitled “The Collective Action Problem and the Tragedy of the Commons” and “Democracy is Subject to the Collective Action Problem” carefully. Then read the following webpages:-https://climatenewsnetwork.net/free-riders-undermine-climate-treaty-hopes/-https://www.theodysseyonline.com/the-free-rider-problem-https://www.christiancentury.org/blogs/archive/2015-02/vaccines-and-other-collective-action-problemsIn a single word document, answer ALL OF THE following questions. The responses should be double-spaced and two to three full pages for full credit. Clearly label where one question ends and the next begins. Each question is worth 25% of your grade for this response. The response itself is worth 5% of your total grade.1. Identify one of the collective action problems faced in American government and discussed in one of the above webpages. What is the public good in this case? Who are the free-riders? How does the failure to achieve collective action negatively impact society?2. The paradox of the collective action problem is it is a situation where if everyone behaves rationally (does what logically benefits themselves), then everybody loses. Explain why this is.3. Suppose that the point betting activity I did in class is extended to the whole university (i.e. if three fourths of all USCA students take a 10 point penalty on their first exam in a course, everyone gets 15 points back). What could be done to make the university more likely to succeed in its goal? In answering this question, use the principles and lessons of collective action.4. How does the collective action problem relate to the question of why we need government?
